๐ŸŽถโœจ Reconnect Through Music โ€“ Todayโ€™s Session โœจ๐ŸŽถ

A huge thank you to everyone who attended another inspiring and joyful Reconnect Through Music session today! ๐Ÿ’› It was wonderful to see so much talent on show, along with plenty of smiles and laughter throughout the afternoon ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŽค Here are just a few of the highlights we enjoyed:

๐ŸŽต Ellysia kicked us off beautifully with Never Gonna Dance Again by Pink.
๐ŸŽธ Sean had everyone rocking along as he told us to Walk This Way with the classic from Aerosmith.
๐Ÿ’ƒ Christine got the whole room moving with 5,6,7,8 by Steps.
๐ŸŒผ Adrian gave a heartfelt performance of Edelweiss from The Sound of Music.
๐ŸŽถ Dennis closed out the performances with the powerful Two Out of Three Ainโ€™t Bad by Meat Loaf.

It was fantastic to see so many people up dancing and enjoying themselves ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿ’ƒ โ€” including Paula, who treated us to some of the yoga moves she learned yesterday! ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธโœจ We also loved hearing everyoneโ€™s feedback about what makes these sessions so special โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ’ฌ Ellie shared that she loves dancing and meeting friends, and said the sessions are so good for bringing everyone together.
๐Ÿ’ฌ Morgan said he enjoys socialising with friends and singing his favourite songs.
๐Ÿ’ฌ Ellysia said she loves seeing everyone enjoying themselves.

A special thank you to Christy and Cheryl for keeping everyone well fed with delicious pizza ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ˜‹, and of course to all our amazing volunteers and everyone who attends and helps make our music sessions so special each week โค๏ธ๐ŸŽถ

GAVO Volunteering Awards 2025

Last week, we were honoured to attend the GAVO Caerphilly Volunteering Awards 2025, held at Blackwood Rugby Club. Weโ€™re thrilled to share that Caerphilly People First was nominated in the Community Advocate category โ€” and we were absolutely delighted to be awarded the Runners-Up Prize! This recognition celebrates our contribution to volunteering and the positive difference our members continue to make across the community. The award was presented to us by Jane Mudd, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent โ€” thank you, Jane!

The evening celebrated so many inspiring individuals and groups across Caerphilly, with categories including:

Sport and Leisure
Health and Wellbeing
Environmental
Food Sustainability

It was amazing and uplifting to hear about the many great projects happening throughout our county โ€” run by people of all ages and backgrounds, all making a real difference. A huge well done to everyone who was nominated โ€” your hard work and passion shine bright! And a big thank you to GAVO for hosting such a wonderful and inspiring evening. Weโ€™re so proud to be part of this amazing community.
