We had our walk nice and early today to avoid the heat 🥵🌳
It was a lovely, leisurely stroll around Bargoed Woodland Park 🌿🐦 — absolutely beautiful! 💚 This afternoon, we’re cooling down in the office ❄️ Stay cool everyone, drink plenty of fluids 💧 and don’t forget your sun cream 🧴🕶️🌞
Viva Fest 2025 didn’t disappoint! 🎉 We had an amazing day at the ICC Wales 🎶🥁 trying out African drumming, getting creative with crafts 🎨, having a go at archery 🎯, chatting to all the stall holders 🗣, and enjoying some fantastic singing and live music 🎤🎵.
🤩 The stilt walkers were incredible 🤹♂️, and the giant bubbles were magical. It was so lovely to see all our wonderful People First friends 💛. Massive well done to the organisers 👏👏.
🏍 Gethin loved sitting on the Blood Bank motorbike 🏍, Rees enjoyed trying out the police gear 👮♂️, Judith had a go on the bike 🚴♀️, Theresa loved collecting all the free pens ✒️, and Libby had fun with the crafts ✂️.We even treated ourselves to some delicious ice cream! Can’t wait for the next one! 🎉✨
It was the perfect weather for our group walk yesterday through Bargoed Woodland Park! 🌳🚶♀️🚶♂️ Well done to everyone who joined us — it was a long one, but you all smashed it! 💪💚 Lovely views, fresh air, good company, and lots of laughs along the way! 🍃😄
Today Ffion and Nat attended TRAC online! TRAC is an exciting project with the University of South Wales 🏫 helping to train student nurses by including the lived experiences of people with learning disabilities 💬💡
We spoke about developing an Easy Read Risk Assessment ✅ and we’re thrilled to say…🎉 Ffion and Gethin will be involved as Teaching and Research Leads / Co-Researchers 👩🏫👨🔬🙌 Well done Ffion, Nat and Gethin!

Yesterday, staff, volunteers and members had a lovely day out at Barry Island! 😊
We caught the train from Caerphilly 🚆 and had a nice walk along the seafront 👣. Some of us went on the funfair rides 🎢 — our brave members tackled the dodgems, the log flume, the waltzers, and many more exciting rides! 🎠💦🎢
We enjoyed coffee and refreshments at Marco’s in the morning ☕🍰, and in the afternoon, we treated ourselves to some delicious ice cream 🍦 — perfect on a sunny day!
We also had fun at the penny arcade 🎰 and bumped into some of our friends from Newbridge who also came by train! 👋
Everyone had a great day full of fresh sea air 🌬️, smiles 😊 and walking by the beach 🏖️. By the end of the day, we were tired but happy! 💙
We can’t wait for our next seaside adventure! 🐚🧢🌞
Our members have been having loads of fun playing darts, snooker, and ping pong, thanks to a very generous donation! There have been plenty of smiles, laughter, and a few friendly competitions – our members love taking part, especially when they’re winning! 😄💪🏆

The sun was shining ☀️, the disco was buzzing 🎶🕺, and the games were packed with fun – from limbo, basketball 🏀, to hula hoops! 🔥 Everyone got involved, and even Peter the caretaker dressed up for the occasion! 🎭👏
The decorations looked amazing 🌺🌈, the food and ice cream were delicious 🍔🌭🍦, and the dancing was fantastic 💃🕺 – you all brought the vibes!

🎤 Susan wowed us with “My Girl” by The Temptations 💕
🎶 Elizabeth sang a sweet version of “Sweet Caroline” (so good! so good! 🎵)
🌏 Shaun got everyone moving with “Down Under” by Men at Work!
🎵 With 28 incredible performances, our session was full of joy, laughter, clapping, dancing, and singalongs! 🥳🎉🪩
🥪🍰 We also enjoyed a lovely buffet – big thanks to Cheryl and Helen for keeping us fed and happy, and to Sian for doing the register with a smile! 😊🧡
