Big thanks to Zac and Lexy for another fantastic session music session last week! Shoutout to the Libanus Chapel team for hosting us in such a perfect location! We enjoyed refreshments and a light lunch together, which added to the sense of warmth and belonging. We also welcomed new members who brought along some amazing voices. There’s something special about coming together for music, food, and friendship. Well done to all the Caerphilly People First volunteers and members for making it a great day. We can’t wait to do it all again next week!

What a fantastic day we had yesterday with Caerphilly People First members at our Reconnect through Music project with RecRock! There was singing, dancing, laughter, and plenty of socialising — so much fun! Everyone who took the mic did an amazing job.

The buffet lunch was delicious — thank you to everyone who contributed, and a big shoutout to Zac, Lexy, and our new volunteer Gemma for helping out! Next week, we’ll be holding a raffle for just £1 per ticket, so don’t miss it! See you all next week!

What a Session! Caerphilly People First Singing Group Hit All the Right Notes! Last week’s singing session at Libanus Lifestyle Chapel was an absolute blast with Zac and Lexy from RecRock! Voices were soaring, smiles were shining, and we had the best time making music together! After singing our hearts out, members enjoyed a light lunch and a dance — because who can resist a good boogie?

A huge thank you to everyone who joined in and brought their amazing energy — what a fantastic day! We can’t wait to see you all at the next session. Keep those voices and dance moves ready.

What an incredible turnout at our “Reconnect Through Music” session at the Little Chapel on the Hill! We had 35 amazing people — old friends and new faces—come together to sing their favourite songs, dance, and share a delicious lunch. Karaoke brought out everyone’s inner superstar, and the shared lunch created such a warm, welcoming vibe — it was all about connecting through music, laughter, and good food.

We enjoyed many other performances from our talented members, making the day even more special! A massive shoutout to Jason and Kylie, AKA Ffion and Karen, Ronan Keating AKA Morgan (our fantastic head gardener), and our Dancing Queen Paula on the mic! Huge thanks to Lexy and Zak from RecRock for running the group, and to the Libanus Lifestyle gang for funding the session through the Moon Dance Foundation. And let’s not forget the delicious cake that made the day even sweeter! Can’t wait for the next one!

We had an amazing time at the final RecRock session at Libanus Lifestyle Chapel yesterday! Nat and Gethin’s efforts to dress up as Cheryl Cole and Bruce Springsteen added a lot of fun to the event. Nat’s performances were a highlight, and it was great that everyone got involved in singing their favourite songs.

Special shoutouts to Ffion and Dan for their rendition of “Don’t You Want Me,” Morgan for singing “When You Say Nothing at All,” and Richard and Demi for their dancing and singing skills. Well done also to everyone else who performed! The buffet with crusty baguettes and homemade sausage rolls was a perfect ending to the session.

The feedback from these sessions has been amazing. Individuals have grown in confidence, made friends, become less anxious, and now love socialising. We have loved listening to you perform every week and will miss you through the summer. Hopefully, we’ll be back just in time for autumn to brighten up the dark days.

Caerphilly People First members had a fantastic time at their most recent music session with Dan from RecRock. The room was filled with energy and enthusiasm as everyone gathered to participate. Dan’s engaging style and musical expertise brought out the best in each member, encouraging them to sing their hearts out. The session included a mix of popular songs from artists like Celine Dion, James Ingram, Tina Turner, Kylie Minogue, Queen, and many more, creating an inclusive and enjoyable atmosphere. Thank you to the Libanus Lifestyle Chapel team for providing hot dogs for lunch; they were enjoyed by all. Next week, unfortunately, is our last session for the summer, but we will have a blast for our final get-together. Please come in fancy dress if you like, as we will have some party songs and party food.

Yesterday we held our RecRock session at Oxford House in Risca, at the Cwtsh Community Wellbeing event. The garden was the perfect setting for our members to sing their favourite songs and have a dance. We also got to make fruit kebabs with Multiply Caerphilly, and have festival make-up and hair done. Next week, we will be back at Libanus Lifestyle Chapel on Wednesday from 10:30am until 12:30pm.
