Reconnect Through Music – What a Day!

We had an absolutely brilliant session yesterday, with an incredible 27 songs performed! πŸŽ€πŸ’« The energy was amazing from start to finish

It was so lovely to see Matilda again, who wowed us with songs from The Little Mermaid πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ and K-Pop Demon Hunters 🎢πŸ”₯. Sean brought the vibes with Tears for Fears 🎹, while Susan had everyone singing along to Living Next Door to Alice πŸšͺ🎡.

We loved the duet from Ffion & Amy singing Olly Murs πŸ’•πŸŽ€, and Chris gave us a fantastic It’s Not Unusual πŸ•Ί. Anthony performed Hopelessly Devoted to You ❀️, and Christine got the whole room moving with Shut Up and Dance πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί (and yes… many people DID dance!).

A huge thank you to everyone who shared their amazing talents πŸŒŸπŸ‘ β€” you made the session so special. The hall was packed (big thanks to Pete for setting everything up πŸ™Œ), and the delicious pizza πŸ• prepared by Christy & Zoe was a big hit!

πŸ’¬ Feedback from the group:
Cheryl enjoyed meeting friends 🀝😊
Paula loved singing and chatting πŸŽΆπŸ’¬
Anthony said he loves everyone and that he’s a karaoke legend! πŸŽ€πŸ‘‘

Thank you all for making it such a joyful and memorable day! πŸŽ‰πŸŽΆπŸ’–

Reconnect through Cookery 🍝❀️

What a lovely session we had on Friday!! We made a delicious spaghetti Bolognese served with warm garlic bread, topped off with a sprinkle of cheddar πŸ§€βœ¨ Our members got hands-on preparing fresh ingredients like celery, carrots, mushrooms, and onions πŸ₯•πŸ„πŸ§…β€”and it tasted amazing! We also sang Happy Birthday to our wonderful volunteer Anthony πŸŽ‚πŸ₯³ who recently celebrated his birthdayβ€”enjoy your cake, lovely man! πŸ’›

A huge thank you to all our wonderful volunteers for your support today πŸ’› Special thanks to Sian for helping out and bringing the fun with bingo πŸŽ‰ and to Sarah for being our brilliant quiz master πŸ§ πŸ‘ It was so lovely seeing everyone enjoying themselves, sharing laughs, and sitting down together for lunch 😊🍽️ We’ll see you Wednesday for music! πŸŽΆπŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

Gardening at TARAGGAN

πŸŒ±πŸƒ We’ve had a great morning at TARAGGAN Educational Gardens! Morgan, Gethin, Christopher and Anthony have all been working hard weeding and clearing the plots, getting everything ready for planting πŸŒΌπŸŒΏπŸ‘ It was very windy 🌬️ and chilly πŸ₯Ά to start, but all that hard work soon warmed us up πŸ’ͺ😊

Being outdoors and gardening has so many benefits β€” it helps improve wellbeing πŸ’š, reduces stress 🌞, keeps us active πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ, builds confidence 🌟 and gives everyone the chance to connect with nature πŸŒπŸ¦‹. Most importantly, it brings people together, creating friendships, laughter and a real sense of achievement πŸ€πŸ’ A brilliant morning all round β€” well done everyone! πŸŒ±πŸ™Œβœ¨

🎢✨ Reconnect Through Music – Today’s Session ✨🎢

A huge thank you to everyone who attended another inspiring and joyful Reconnect Through Music session today! πŸ’› It was wonderful to see so much talent on show, along with plenty of smiles and laughter throughout the afternoon 😊🎀 Here are just a few of the highlights we enjoyed:

🎡 Ellysia kicked us off beautifully with Never Gonna Dance Again by Pink.
🎸 Sean had everyone rocking along as he told us to Walk This Way with the classic from Aerosmith.
πŸ’ƒ Christine got the whole room moving with 5,6,7,8 by Steps.
🌼 Adrian gave a heartfelt performance of Edelweiss from The Sound of Music.
🎢 Dennis closed out the performances with the powerful Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad by Meat Loaf.

It was fantastic to see so many people up dancing and enjoying themselves πŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒ β€” including Paula, who treated us to some of the yoga moves she learned yesterday! πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈβœ¨ We also loved hearing everyone’s feedback about what makes these sessions so special ❀️

πŸ’¬ Ellie shared that she loves dancing and meeting friends, and said the sessions are so good for bringing everyone together.
πŸ’¬ Morgan said he enjoys socialising with friends and singing his favourite songs.
πŸ’¬ Ellysia said she loves seeing everyone enjoying themselves.

A special thank you to Christy and Cheryl for keeping everyone well fed with delicious pizza πŸ•πŸ˜‹, and of course to all our amazing volunteers and everyone who attends and helps make our music sessions so special each week ❀️🎢

Cookery

At Friday’s cookery session, Gareth chose to make lasagne – sheets of pasta floating in a lean beef bolognaise and cheese sauce, served with vegetables and garlic bread as side dishes. Our members and volunteers helped prep the vegetables, bolognaise and lasagne ready for cooking, and the end results tasted amazing – well done everyone.

Thanks to Amy Jones and Ffion Poole who ran the quiz whilst we waited for the lasagne to cook, and thanks to Tracy Tregaskis, Sam Evans, and Cheryl Smith for volunteering in the kitchen – you all worked so hard. Next week, Lisa has chosen to make chicken curry and rice.
