Lewis School & The First Give Programme

Last week Ffion and Christy attended The Lewis School for the First Give Final 🌟 The First Give programme gives Year 7 students the chance to learn about social issues in their community, choose a charity they care about, and take part in fundraising and social action. Each Year 7 group delivered a presentation on their chosen charity to a panel of judges, who asked questions and decided which group had made the biggest impact. The winning group receives £1,000 for their chosen charity 👏 All Year 7 groups did an amazing job presenting their charities — congratulations to the winners! 🏆

A very special thank you to Year 7S for choosing Caerphilly People First. We thought your presentation was absolutely fantastic 💙 As well as raising an incredible £75 through your scavenger hunt, 7S also wrote us a beautiful poem, which will be framed and proudly displayed in our office — a truly thoughtful and meaningful gift 🌈✨

Sponsored Walk at Pen Y Fan Pond

A HUGE thank you to everyone who turned up to support Caerphilly People First for our sponsored walk at Pen Y Fan Pond yesterday!

The sun was shining, the spirits were high, and the laps were… well, many! Some of us did one, some smashed two, others powered through three, and a few even managed four laps!

Every step counted, and every penny raised means so much to us. We’ll let you know the total sponsorship money as soon as it’s all collected. Well done team – you absolutely smashed it!

Fundraising for Ukraine

We’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended this week’s coffee morning held to raise money for Ukraine. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we have raised over £200 so far, and this will be donated to the British Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian appeal. Pan Gwent Networking Event

Members and staff recently attended a Pan Gwent networking event at Able Radio, Cwmbran.  People First groups attending talked about future events, and members exchanged ideas about possible funding and talked about which areas we need to focus on.  The groups also discussed the importance of self advocacy.

Cupcake Day for the Alzheimer’s Society

On Thursday 13th June 2019 Caerphilly People First hosted a cupcake day to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who baked or donated cakes, and also thanks to everyone who bought cakes on the day.  Thanks to the great efforts of everyone we raised £92.10 in total.
