We had a fantastic day at the University of South Wales yesterday when our Caerphilly People First TRAC members helped train student nurses from Learning Disability Nursing and Midwifery. 🎭 Gethin and Hannah played new parents who had just come home from hospital. 👶🏠 🤰 Ffion played a woman who had just found out she was 18 weeks pregnant. These scenarios helped the student nurses think about how they can support people with learning disabilities. 💙 We talked about the importance of:

♿ Making reasonable adjustments
⏰ Giving people time
🤝 Working together
👤 Involving people in their own care
💙 It is really important that different types of nurses work together and understand each other’s roles. 🤝👩‍⚕️👶
